Well, it might be a shock to him now, but almost forty years down the road I don't think he's regretting saying that before getting a big surprise from her. Maybe it's just me :D

Just wait till 1991 when Grunge makes a breakthrough, you guys would have some serious competition.

Belinda: I need you to drive me to the doctor, Tony.

Tony: Why?

Belinda: Well…that unforgettable night we….joined the Christmas Club….

Tony: Oh….

If Tony is considering leaving the band, then it might be a smart idea.

Besides, his bamdmates aren't that pleasant to be around.

It's that point where they're sick of the sight of each other...

You've heard of chili mac? Try eating Fleetwood Mac, and you'll get a big fight inside your stomach!
WCP 9th Jul 2021, 2:23 PM
From what is being shown, I think they’re only sick of the sight of only one

Rupert's conflict with his band is so sad. This reminds me of when the Eagles broke up in the early nineties.

I pity Rupert and the Rodents' fans. It's no fun when a band breaks up because the bandmates can no longer stand each other.

But you cannot force a relationship to work either. Let a band stay together despite its internal fissures and it will show. That was the case with the Beatles.

Ooooh, we got a couple of cinnamon twists baking! You're a master chef Tony!

I still love that third panel! Very evocative!

Hehe :)

It's always that classic type of accident.
FreyFox 9th Jul 2021, 9:41 AM
Can't go wrong with the classics!

Funny, I remember seeing parts of Live Aid on television and I never saw any African performers, nor did I see any of the performers do anything other than the songs they had already done before.

And I thought didgeridoos were supposed to be Australian.

I think at this point Rupert’s just making excuses to hide the fact that:

A. Maybe they weren’t included because Bob didn’t like their music

B. He’s trying to gaslight them over the whole manager fiasco

Or maybe they weren't prestigious enough compared to the other big names like Elton John or Led Zeppelin?
Prince Puppycorn 10th Jul 2021, 6:49 PM
That’s also accurate

Wear a condom kids.

Agreed, but too, despite of faith, if you can't avoid abstinence, BC is the way to go, lasses.
GoodKaptainKook 12th Jul 2021, 5:59 AM
Or at least wait until a ring's on her finger, or you're both sure you want kids!
ZsewqTheWolf 12th Jul 2021, 6:37 AM
he did but gone cheap with it

Some bandleader Rupert is. He is letting the band's manager embezzle its hard-earned money. This reminds me of Rocky V, where Rocky's manager steals most of Rocky's fortune. By the time Rocky notices, it was too late to stop him.

His bandmates noticed what the manager was doing, but Rupert was too dumb to do anything about it.

As it would turn out, Father Christmas would leave two gifts for Tony and Bel.

I hope that Tony gives up smoking.

(My apologies for placing this post in last week's forum.)
FreyFox 13th Jul 2021, 10:27 AM
I think this would have motivated him to quit smoking yeah ^^
