Yeah, salt is notorious for making cars rust. Until improvements in build quality came in the mid 90s, rust was a serious problem affecting cars in the UK.

Sounds like it's mostly resolved now. Wonder how my car will fare, though I'm not anxious to try. It already has most of the paint on the hood peeling due to sun damage.

It depends on what the climate is like where you live really. Back in the 80s anyone who lived near the sea was more likely to have a rusty car!

Rust is still a problem around here, on the east coast of Canada, thanks to the use of road salt to melt ice
