Alfred red panda: *He makes a glare at you.* "Of all the jobs foxes can take, I don't want them to take this one..."😡

I was honestly anticipating something like opening a shelter or an orphanage or something, but fire rescue is good too :)

Bianco is probably just a few more pizzas from a monster heart attack. But I don't suppose he'd be missed much XD

Probably not :P

Laser guided karma at its finest.
David31 12th Jun 2020, 12:10 AM
A little something to appease the stuck fur fans huh? :D Yep that is definitely karma at work, but perhaps Nick 'could' help him? :D At least Jason is doing something worthwhile. He deserves a break. :-) I guess they are hauling him away on a wheelbarrow it looks like too? :D

It's a stretcher XD. It's all played for laughs here, classic humiliation conga ^^
kennethsarmstrong 12th Jun 2020, 2:32 PM
I have been carried away to an ambulance in one of those on more than one occasion. A heavier person would require four or more EMTs and/or firemen to carry the person to an ambulance. Thankfully, those newer stretchers have wheels that can collapse while being loaded into an ambulance.

There is also a sit-down stretcher for someone who is a bit more ambulatory. I do sympathize with EMTs and firemen who would have to bring a heavier person down a flight of stairs in one.
Miscreant Mutt 13th Jun 2020, 3:18 AM
When I last rode in an ambulance, it had a hydraulic lift built in, to handle the heavier patients. The Fire Dept. EMTs said that it paid for itself in reduced Workmen's Compensation insurance rates. Also cuts down on the need to bring a small army to each emergency.

Interesting factoid :) My brother is an EMT himself.
David31 12th Jun 2020, 10:42 PM
I can sort of see that now, yeah a stretcher would make sense.
Shaggy 12th Jun 2020, 12:23 AM
That's a great job for Jason! And wow. A fat tiger got stuck in his house XD How ironic!

Now he's a firefighter!? Jason, stop cadding new careers! XP

FreyFox
Well this is technically only his second job XD

I consider his failed Chef life and the fact he did Karste as careers.

Change my mind

The culinary thing was a college course so he would have been a student at the time. The karate is a hobby.
Randy Ringtail 12th Jun 2020, 12:53 AM
Yeah, karma can be quite a bitch Blanco. Also, I like the little Zootopia reference you slipped in on the second panel. ;-)

Brilliant film :)
WaxBadger 12th Jun 2020, 12:55 AM
Consider yourself fortunate Jason, in that same ten months of time, Blanco could have become the boss of his very own crime syndicate, he just chose to squander his money another way.
ace_country 12th Jun 2020, 4:30 AM
Well well well, look who's chunky NOW Blanco you rat bastard. Karmas a bitch aint it? Serves you right. Reap what you sow and pay what you owe
kennethsarmstrong 12th Jun 2020, 3:55 PM
That was not very nice. Not all rats are you-know-whats. Doc Rat, from the webcomic of the same name, is a nice person and a great doctor 🐀. Try to be nice when he makes a bad joke 🥴🙄. His staff 🐰🦌 goes crazy having to endure his sense of humor.
WCP 12th Jun 2020, 5:06 AM
And so Jason begins his new career. Hopefully it becomes a more fulfilling one than the last one.

And to give Jason some credit, he is taking the high road when it comes to Blanco when he could have given him some justifiable flack. Too bad Blanco is too stubborn and prideful to take Jason up on his suggestion.
maxgoof 12th Jun 2020, 8:32 AM
YAY!!
maxgoof 12th Jun 2020, 8:33 AM
BTW, nice Zootopia reference in the first two panels.
Muddy 13th Jun 2020, 2:23 AM
Totally!
Excelsior_Thirty 12th Jun 2020, 9:52 AM
Heh heh, Blanco must be a depressed tiger-all that eating to try to be happy has backfired... XD
FreyFox 12th Jun 2020, 10:18 AM
FreyFox
Backfired on Jason too lol
WCP 12th Jun 2020, 3:49 PM
Though it looks like it backfired on Blanco even greater since he is unable to get out of the house.
Long Tom 12th Jun 2020, 11:19 AM
Jason must be stronger than he looks, because you have to be very strong to be a firefighter. Don't believe me? Try handling a fire hose sometime.
kennethsarmstrong 13th Jun 2020, 12:46 PM
Jason must be. His co-workers had struggled to get Blanco into the ambulance. Newer stretchers are designed to lift up without too much effort by EMTs. Nonetheless, EMTs need to be prepared for dealing with an unusually heavy person.

(I know that this topic is becoming a dead horse, but a paramedic has to be prepared for anything.)
kennethsarmstrong 12th Jun 2020, 3:14 PM
Ten months is a long time for Blanco to double his weight. The idea of Blanco tripling his weight was a stretch, but magic was likely a factor.

I assume that Blanco has lost his dojo. My idea of karma would be Nick buying Blanco's dojo and bringing in real sensei to teach karate.
WCP 12th Jun 2020, 9:42 PM
Yup and that magic is a mix of exaggeration and some tiger not bothering to get off his lazy butt

As for Nick I think he’s a one-dojo skunk. And I don’t see him as being that cruel to just buy out the Iron Dragon dojo. If anything I think there’s likely a new business there like probably a cleaners or a salon.
FreyFox 13th Jun 2020, 1:35 AM
FreyFox
It could be that Blanco’s remaining students may have deserted him too, perhaps for Nick XD
kennethsarmstrong 14th Jun 2020, 6:07 PM
Nick was having problems with the one dojo as it was. Maybe another sensei could come in and take over the dojo.

Juggling two dojo at one time would likely be too much for Nick.
FreyFox 15th Jun 2020, 2:32 AM
FreyFox
Nick wouldn't run two dojos, it would be one bigger dojo.
Thwaitesy 12th Jun 2020, 10:09 PM
There it is LOL There's the vastly overweight bad guy I was hoping for LMAO

Also awesome that Jason is a Firefighter now.
FreyFox 13th Jun 2020, 1:36 AM
FreyFox
Thought you’d like that :)

i got an idea how to make him back to his semi old self.
kennethsarmstrong 14th Jun 2020, 6:00 PM
Please go easy on the fat jokes. Blanco is no angel, but nobody deserves to be made fun of because of their weight. Call me overly sensitive, but I was overweight then I was younger. I was teased about my weight by my classmates, and their jokes and names were never funny.

I have been overweight for most of my life, partly because of a medical condition. I have since slimmed down somewhat, but being overweight was never any fun.
FreyFox 15th Jun 2020, 2:33 AM
FreyFox
Blanco was a bad guy, and he was well past overweight. He deserves his humiliation conga, end of.
kennethsarmstrong 16th Jun 2020, 5:42 AM
I know Blanco was a bad guy, and I do suppose he deserved most of what happened to him. As I said, I have a hard time listening to nasty fat jokes.
WCP 16th Jun 2020, 6:48 PM
Ken, I was also picked on for my weight as well. Especially one school year in particular when practically everyone in the school was calling me names. It was a horrible time in my life and I too would not wish this on anyone.

That being said, given the fact that Blanco spent a few strips calling Jason “Chunky” in a few strips, along with treating his students poorly with insults, withholding belts for not being paid in full, and stealing their prize money should any of those students won, it was time see how Blanco liked it when the shoe is on the other foot.

And keep in mind the main point. Jason could have rubbed it in Blanco’s face like Blanco did to him. But Jason is not like that all. He’s better than that. He instead gave Blanco a suggestion (a bit off the cuff since he’s suggesting Nick, but genuine help). But Blanco is too full of stubborn pride to take the advice. At least for now.

Bottom line: Blanco is a bully. Plain and simple. And he’s in this position because of his own arrogance and selfishness. As Frey has said already: “He deserves his humiliation conga”
kennethsarmstrong 18th Jun 2020, 6:59 AM
Touché. Blanco's weight gain is definitely the result of stewing in his own juices for way too long.
