Now I'm curious to see what Jason wants to do with his life :)
FreyFox 5th Jun 2020, 12:52 AM
You'll find out next week ^^
GoodKaptainKook 5th Jun 2020, 2:44 AM
I'm guessing something like a homeless shelter or an orphanage?
kennethsarmstrong 6th Jun 2020, 2:33 AM
I can't wait. It sounds like either Jason wants to start his own dojo in time, or he wants to help Russell restart his chop shop auto detail shop.

There still is the matter of the Harveys trying to get their insurance company to pay up so they can rebuild. (They may have to take the company to court, but that could take years and a lot of money that they don't have.) ("Chopshop" is the term the Harveys called their auto detail shop. In the US, that phrase has a negative meaning.)
FreyFox 8th Jun 2020, 10:21 AM
In strips I released over the last couple of years Russell hints at studying for a doctorate or a PhD so he can get a higher paying job to provide for his family. Reggie and Sasha hinted at being partners, but of course that is kind of up in the air. Don't look backwards, look forward :)
kennethsarmstrong 10th Jun 2020, 12:57 AM
You do make a point about going forward, but getting a doctorate would help Russell get a better job. Maybe later, he can build a new auto detail shop of his own.

It is sad, though, that Russell lost his uncle's business and has no way to rebuild it despite having enough insurance. Maybe that lawyer who represented Sasha might be of help unless he deals exclusively with criminal cases.

Fox Of Kings Island
Does it deal with the wildfires or is it a surprise?
FreyFox 5th Jun 2020, 12:52 AM
You'll see ^^.

I'm so happy for Jason!!! :-D
WaxBadger 5th Jun 2020, 12:56 AM
It's good that Jason has decided to think more of others than himself. Moving on from a hard unjust life can't always keep the past in the past, especially when it becomes apparent that your are setting a goal that is ultimately more about ego and not truly producing happiness.

I have always had trouble trying to move on from times when being around people who seem to only nitpick on every little thing I don't do right or just hate me for no reason. It's just works better for me to go with the flow and find out what's better for me on my own and Jason has started to realize that.
FreyFox 5th Jun 2020, 10:58 AM
There's some bad memories I can't change, can only go forward 👍
Randy Ringtail 5th Jun 2020, 2:39 AM
Can't wait to see what Jason has in store!
Excelsior_Thirty 5th Jun 2020, 10:41 AM
Best of luck to Jason- he has shown himself that he can be multitalented. Whatever he does, I'm sure he'll succeed.
kennethsarmstrong 6th Jun 2020, 2:41 AM
Good point. I do wish that Jason would consider finishing his culinary studies. Jason has the talent for cooking. Pardon the pun, but he does need more "seasoning".
Anon 7th Jun 2020, 9:19 PM
They ended once he gave his instructor an exploding soufflé back in #377
kennethsarmstrong 8th Jun 2020, 12:28 AM
That was then. This is now. I cannot imagine one exploding souffle being enough to cause Jason to give up on his dreams. As I noted before, Jason needs to learn the basics of cooking before doing something more complex. Even volunteering at a soup kitchen could help him with his skills.
FreyFox 8th Jun 2020, 10:22 AM
Over the years he's become adequate at cooking basic things, but he doesn't attempt anything out of the ordinary any more. I'm surprised nobody has brought up his first love, reading ^^.
kennethsarmstrong 8th Jun 2020, 11:25 PM
Sad... and we have no-one to blame but Edward for that. However, Jason's confidence is improving, so his reluctance to try something new should decrease.

I did mention some time back about Jason becoming a teacher. Given his love of reading, he still could consider that.

Jason could also start a male-orientated book club. Maybe not too male-dominated, but including books that could interest both sexes would be ideal.
David31 5th Jun 2020, 10:49 PM
Looks like Jason's got his confidence back. I'm glad. :)
kennethsarmstrong 6th Jun 2020, 2:59 AM
I live in Chicago and have had to suffer through three straight years of the Blackhawks failing to make the playoffs. (Think Stoke-on-Trent, Dundee United, and the Chicago Fire.) The Blackhawks could certainly use Jason, but only if he is fully committed to helping them get back to the playoffs 🦊🤔.
Excelsior_Thirty 6th Jun 2020, 9:11 PM
Well, they are in this year thanks to the virus as there's the modified 24 team playoff... 😉
WCP 7th Jun 2020, 10:53 PM
And thank God for that!
kennethsarmstrong 8th Jun 2020, 12:31 AM
Even if the Hawks make an early exit, they should be able to build on their playoff performance for next season.
ace_country 6th Jun 2020, 4:25 AM
Chicago blackhawks!?!?! A chance to play with Jonathan toews, Patrick Kane, and a few other badass players on that team is a double platinum opportunity!! Go for it jason!! Youre one hell of an enforcer on the ice, i say do it man! With them, youll have a chance to make it to the playoffs then the finals and maybe end up holding the Stanley Cup over your head
FreyFox 6th Jun 2020, 10:38 AM
Jason was actually a playmaker but a pretty hardy one at that ^^
ace_country 7th Jun 2020, 1:21 AM
That too lol he didn't put up with nothin!! But given his skills on the ice, id hate to see that talent go to waste not playin for chicago
kennethsarmstrong 8th Jun 2020, 12:18 AM
Good point, but Jason needs to tone down the "enforcer" part and make sure that "Edward" does not cause him to go out of control like before.

If Jason does go in a different direction away from hockey, maybe he can reconsider that change later on.
Muddy 7th Jun 2020, 9:11 AM
“The Salty...??” I can’t make out the rest of the sign.
FreyFox 7th Jun 2020, 9:41 PM
It says The Salty Otter ^^
Long Tom 8th Jun 2020, 7:35 AM
There used to be a restaurant called "The Rusty Pelican" with an actual rusty pelican statue in front of it. The restaurant became something else, but they kept the statue, at least for a time.
