I’m guessing Reggie didn’t say goodbye to Russell, did he?
FreyFox 5th Apr 2019, 9:02 AM edit delete reply
He didn't :(

Guess no words are needed to represent the sadness and sombre attitude as Reggie takes a departure for their lives, temporarily (could be permanently if he enjoys Japan so much he decides to live there instead)...

I would say the old song "Jet Airliner" (originally by Paul Pena but most famous by the Steve Miller Band) would fit well here but it's a little too cheery sounding for the scene. What's a good sad song for such a scene about departing on a plane? Best I can think of is "Leaving on a Jet Plane"...

"Leaving On A Jet Plane" works.

Insert 'When You Go Away' from the old BBC soap opera Eldorado here.

So Russ must have got word that Reg came back only to learn that he was only there to get his stuff, and Linda must have stopped Russ from chasing Reg down. With the lack of dialogue, the only thing missing is the music.

Yeah, it's all up in the air from here what happens in Japan, and it will be interesting to see what Reg comes home to in another year, god I'm so tempted to make predictions but I can't.

Have a safe flight, Reggie.

Hope everything will get better soon for all of them :-(

Off he goes, into the wild, blue yonder...
(Actually, cue Elton John's "Rocket Man.")
So, either we get a subtitled "one year later," or something major happens to somebody while Reg is stuck in Japan and can't help.

Good song choice there :)

Now that I think of it, I think his song "Daniel" also might work because that actually is about a loved one leaving on an airplane and it's pretty mellowish...

Yep, no words to describe a sad time for the family. I presume Russell's grudge towards his bro had disappeared right when he saw the car for sale. I don't think Reggie knows; but for sure, he will forget about the quarrel as time passes on.

I’ll admit when I first saw the title of this strip, I immediately thought of that song from the Offspring. I imagine it would be a good fit here.

Not familiar with their song, but I was thinking of a lyric from Duran Duran's Ordianary World myself ^^

Do you have someone in mind to buy Reg's car or is it up to our imaginations?
FreyFox 6th Apr 2019, 10:22 AM edit delete reply
Let your imagination run wild ^^
