London is amazing, but be prepared to leave with a lighter wallet!

Where I come from you can afford pretty much anything

And I thought you like to avoid London? :D Though I can vouch for the high prices, due to the cost of living and due to tourism.

Thanks though for doing these London Landmarks justice, even The Shard looks impressive. I was just born right next door to where that is, though the Shard wasn't there in 1984. :)
FreyFox 8th Nov 2016, 12:30 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, The Shard I finally got to do last year :) I don't go to London often, but it's a great place for tourism!
David31 11th Nov 2016, 4:43 AM edit delete reply
I can defiantly vouch for that.

You have just described in the description why I enjoy life in the country. Things are not AS expensive :D
FreyFox 8th Nov 2016, 12:31 AM edit delete reply
Harder to find certain services, but I much prefer suburban life in a small dormitory town to living in the city centre :)

Just how much are hotels in London? How can Russ and Linda afford that?! They must've picked a luxury hotel :-P
And where's Reg? We haven't seen much of him enjoying the vacation.
FreyFox 8th Nov 2016, 12:32 AM edit delete reply
Reg appears in the next strip, he's hanging around with his other brother ;)

Paint that train in a blue colour scheme and it wouldn't look out of place here in New South Wales.
FreyFox 8th Nov 2016, 12:32 AM edit delete reply
Some of them are painted blue, if they are in East Midlands livery ^^ The livery here is Virgin East Coast.

Didn't know that. Just googled some images, not bad, though a bit garish for my tastes.

What I was referring to though is that we stole your HST 125 blueprints and built cheap copies here that don't run anywhere near as fast. Look up New South Wales XPT.

If they were heading back to Stoke, they would use either Virgin West Coast trains which are red or London Midland which are been and black.
FreyFox 11th Nov 2016, 9:17 AM edit delete reply
They're not going back to Stoke yet ;)
David31 12th Nov 2016, 1:54 PM edit delete reply
I see, it's great though that they are still going to have some time together.
David31 11th Nov 2016, 4:46 AM edit delete reply
Sorry I meant bee not been.
KC 7th Nov 2016, 5:38 AM edit delete reply
Quite possibly one of many reasons that I haven't visited yet. Only old family history would tempt me.
Nicolas 7th Nov 2016, 9:18 AM edit delete reply
yeah first time i went there i searched for a month for something AFFORDABLE.
wasn't easy but a worthy 3 days.

That's cities for you. Price varies directly with age and population.
mpasteven 7th Nov 2016, 8:03 PM edit delete reply
The wallet may be lighter, but now it can fly!
LongTom 7th Nov 2016, 9:04 PM edit delete reply
So what about outside of London? Also expensive?
FreyFox 8th Nov 2016, 12:34 AM edit delete reply
The South East is in general quite affluent, but I can't comment on how expensive it is there in relation to London.
David31 11th Nov 2016, 4:47 AM edit delete reply
A bit cheaper then London itself, but still slightly more expensive then the rest of the country.

Wow! Europe really is that expensive. How much an average house in Britain would cost in US dollars compared to that hotel's "Bill Gates" prices? XD
FreyFox 8th Nov 2016, 10:15 AM edit delete reply
Capital cities tend to be the exception rather than the rule.

I'm glad I don't live in city, though I'd rather live in a small town than the countryside. Because rednecks.
LongTom 9th Nov 2016, 1:06 PM edit delete reply
Rednecks? I've met far worse people who live in the city or the suburbs. I live in the Chicagoland area.
