I still don't get how such intersections can even be green-lit (with or without traffic lights) :P Roundabouts are much better =P

In other news, Linda's profile has now been added to the 'Cast' section! :D

you were right Mark,
Nick is tougher. he can walk through a 6 way intersection.
Dan 30th May 2014, 12:25 AM edit delete reply
I never knew 6-ways existed.

But not only is Reggie unable to drive a car AGAIN, but now Nick can't form a fist with his right hand again. :(

These injuries aren't permanent, they'll heal.

That's true. Ah, the magic of comics.

That skunk always gettin' hurt. Me? I got a health problem on my foot called "scorn". This black belt test is goin' to make me suffer when this scorn hurts me with every hard step I take. I have been takin' TKD for 10 years now.

I don't think I've seen a 6-way intersection myself, but I'll be keeping an eye out henceforth because it wouldn't surprise me.

In the subrub of Broadmeadow, Newcastle, New South Wales there's an intersection nicknamed "Nine Ways.". This is something of a tease though because while there are indeed nine roads intersecting it's essentially just a four-way intersection with the main roads forking off. Maybe in the days before it was converted to traffic lights it was closer to a genuine 9-way intersection, but who knows.

I've never seen those before. Scariest thing I've seen are single lanes that change directions at certain times. What if it changes while you're in the middle of it?

This brings to mind the 'Road Test Pedestrians' advert from the 70s!

The disadvantages of a badly planned road system. Might as well take the bus for now.

Wait, is Lankershim Boulevard the culprit here? If memory serves, it crosses a couple of four-way intersections in the Valley.
FreyFox 1st Jun 2014, 1:02 AM edit delete reply
It wasn't any particular intersection that inspired it really, just those big intersections in general.
Ajay Parihar 31st May 2014, 4:10 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, it pain me 2 c 'em get a little surprised.
ShawnSkunk 5th Jun 2014, 9:57 PM edit delete reply
in this age now I don't think there is such a thing as the right of way anymore
Seizethemoment 9th Jun 2014, 2:20 AM edit delete reply
Oh no, poor guys. /)_(\

I'd say the six way intersection may have put a "hex" on them.

GoodKaptainKook 8th Dec 2015, 8:57 PM edit delete reply
And now I know exactly why I am so glad I don't live in the big city. A six-way intersection? I have no idea how I'd handle driving one of those...

...Or trying to cross one, for that matter! :D That's gotta hurt...

This sounds like the Six Corners intersection in Chicago. Two perpendicular streets and one diagonal street intersect each other. It takes time to get through the intersection, and on some streets left turns are prohibited. Another example is 79th street, Stony Island Avenue, and South Chicago Avenue. Left turns are limited at this intersection, and the walk signals are so short that pedestrians usually get caught in the middle of the roadway when the light turns red.
